Noelia Querino Paniagua,

Faith,
I was sooooo in love with the Mermaid Melody anime growing up, so, it was nice reading a bit of the manga for that childhood nostalgia。
Soobie's heartbroken,
Va beh, ormai mi mancano solo due volumi。 Posso farcela。 。。。more

Hannah,
The second arc is very fast paced, but still a bit more fun than the first。 The religious motifs of the "boss" villains are, just as I remembered, awkward and not even particularly plot-relevant, but the Winged Ones are some of my favorite characters, especially Lanhua and Alala。 Seira is also one of my favorites of the mermaids, though I think I was remembering some of her anime personality and projecting it onto my memories of the manga。 Surprisingly, I still find Michal completely unlikeable, The second arc is very fast paced, but still a bit more fun than the first。 The religious motifs of the "boss" villains are, just as I remembered, awkward and not even particularly plot-relevant, but the Winged Ones are some of my favorite characters, especially Lanhua and Alala。 Seira is also one of my favorites of the mermaids, though I think I was remembering some of her anime personality and projecting it onto my memories of the manga。 Surprisingly, I still find Michal completely unlikeable, even though I now understand her motivations much better。 Hanon is also a lot more relatable than I remembered! After Volume 4 I wondered "Could this series get worse?" Well, it's kinda plateaued on the bottom。 And yet it still finds new ways to surprise me with being terrible。 After Volume 4 I wondered "Could this series get worse?" Miss Ryoko,
I didn't mind this volume so much。 The storyline was REALLY basic and pretty much shows up in every shojo manga it seems, but I didn't mind it。I won't be reading the rest of the series。 The library doesn't have the 6th volume and to get a decent copy of it online would cost me more than I'm willing to spend on this series。 So I will end my run with Pichi Pichi Pitch here。 I'm not particularly sad。 The ending is easy to predict (the mermaids will win and Kaito and Lucia will be together forever) I didn't mind this volume so much。 The storyline was REALLY basic and pretty much shows up in every shojo manga it seems, but I didn't mind it。I won't be reading the rest of the series。 The library doesn't have the 6th volume and to get a decent copy of it online would cost me more than I'm willing to spend on this series。 So I will end my run with Pichi Pichi Pitch here。 I'm not particularly sad。 The ending is easy to predict (the mermaids will win and Kaito and Lucia will be together forever) so I really don't feel like I'm missing out on much。 。。。more
Lizzie,
I really love this series and I love the direction it takes in this volume。 My only complaint is that the English translation is sometimes a bit awkward。 Lovely story lovely drawings!
Sesana,
This is really starting to test my mermaid infatuation。 I couldn't really get behind the turn the story took (amnesia, ugh) and it really did feel tacked on to extend the lifespan of the series。 The romance was getting a little too racy for my tastes, too, especially since I can't really tell how old Lucia is supposed to be。 She looks 16-17, but acts much younger。 But。。。 mermaids。 And there's only two volumes left, so I'll soldier on。 This is really starting to test my mermaid infatuation。 I couldn't really get behind the turn the story took (amnesia, ugh) and it really did feel tacked on to extend the lifespan of the series。 The romance was getting a little too racy for my tastes, too, especially since I can't really tell how old Lucia is supposed to be。 She looks 16-17, but acts much younger。 But。。。 mermaids。 And there's only two volumes left, so I'll soldier on。 。。。more

After things become peaceful a new danger enters the lives of the princesses。 Cute storytelling, though many times it seems that things very easily fall into place for the girls, it works。 It's manga。 That's how it's supposed to be。 For excellent artwork and a continued fun storyline, this one is worth picking up。 After things become peaceful a new danger enters the lives of the princesses。 Cute storytelling, though many times it seems that things very easily fall into place for the girls, it works。 It's manga。 That's how it's supposed to be。 For excellent artwork and a continued fun storyline, this one is worth picking up。 。。。more
Bianca,
I must admit, the only thing I really liked about this book was the personality quiz at the back。Since the last book ended the first arc I foolishly had more hope in this one, but it's just as if not more ridiculous than the others。 In all honesty, I probably would have stopped reading after the second or third book, but I have something against not finishing series I've started。 I don't know why, but I'm still going to pray volume 6 gets exciting。 I must admit, the only thing I really liked about this book was the personality quiz at the back。Since the last book ended the first arc I foolishly had more hope in this one, but it's just as if not more ridiculous than the others。 In all honesty, I probably would have stopped reading after the second or third book, but I have something against not finishing series I've started。 I don't know why, but I'm still going to pray volume 6 gets exciting。 。。。more

when i want a quick mermaid melody fix, this book is not the book i turn to。 don't get me wrong, i still love the series, but this arc isn't my favorite。 it seems added on to expand the series, and nothing else。 this was something the sailor moon series was a master at doing well, while this series, not so much。 still the artistic quality is unfaultering, and i still love the romance part of luchia and kaito。 though their relationship has the maturity level of people in their mid-twenties, not p when i want a quick mermaid melody fix, this book is not the book i turn to。 don't get me wrong, i still love the series, but this arc isn't my favorite。 it seems added on to expand the series, and nothing else。 this was something the sailor moon series was a master at doing well, while this series, not so much。 still the artistic quality is unfaultering, and i still love the romance part of luchia and kaito。 though their relationship has the maturity level of people in their mid-twenties, not people 15/16。 due to that, you forget constantly how old they are and only get pulled back when someone states how long they've known someone。scratch that。 i lied。 they're like 13ish 。。。more
Nikki,
I'm torn as to how to rate this book。 The artwork is exquisite and the story framing demands a ton from readers--it's definitely not "dummy reading。" But the plot lacks drama--only the romance gives any and I assume that's the real focus of the series。 I had a few problems with the romance however: the characters have preteen maturity levels and completely adult relationships (with sex and enough pictures that it's definitely PG 13, though not beyond)。 Also, at no point do you believe that the r I'm torn as to how to rate this book。 The artwork is exquisite and the story framing demands a ton from readers--it's definitely not "dummy reading。" But the plot lacks drama--only the romance gives any and I assume that's the real focus of the series。 I had a few problems with the romance however: the characters have preteen maturity levels and completely adult relationships (with sex and enough pictures that it's definitely PG 13, though not beyond)。 Also, at no point do you believe that the romance is in danger of failing for all the preteen moaning about it。 Anyway, I'd probably encourage my own teen daughters to catch their romance on the wings of something more substantial and less morally questionable。 However, it was absolutely incredible the way the artist evoked emotion in me (a hard-to-impress-with-pure-romance reader)。 Somehow those pictures said more about the angst of love-gone-awry than the book's tiny efforts at plot ever could。 。。。more
